Brien Paint

Eco-friendly pure acrylic water-based coating used for concrete and dry wall surfaces. This is specially designed for exterior applications with superior alkali resistance, excellent adhesion and sealing properties. Used as protective coating for concrete, stucco, bricks, and drywall surfaces.

PAINTING GUIDELINES
SURFACE PREPARATION
NEW CONCRETE, MASONRY AND STUCCO
  • Allow new concrete, masonry and stucco to cure for 28 days.
  • All surfaces should be sound, clean, dry and free from loose and flaking material, dust, dirt, oil, efflorescence, and other contaminants.
OLD CONCRETE
  • Remove loose and flaking material on previously painted surfaces.
  • Sand old paint in good condition, and then dust off before repainting.
  • All structural defects such as cracks, faulty construction joints, pinholes, honeycombs or any part of concrete surfaces should be treated properly prior to application.
WOOD
  • Surface to be painted should be clean, dry, free from dust, dirt and other foreign matter.
  • Hammer all nails deep enough prior to application.
  • Sand rough wood until smooth, then dust off.
  • If repainting, first remove all blistering, peeling and scaling paint by wire brushing or using thinner. Clean thoroughly prior to painting.
APPLICATION
  • Stir the material thoroughly before use.
  • Prior to applying Brien Pure Acrylic Paint, all detailing work must be completed on seams, splits, protrusions, fixings, drains, flashings, fasteners, etc.
  • Material should be applied at least three (3) coats by using brush, roller or airless spray. Decreasing the number of coats will reduce the paint performance.
  • The product will be tough dry in approximately 40 minutes and may be overcoated after two hours drying under normal conditions.
  • This can be assessed at the time of application and is influenced by ambient temperature, humidity, airflow and type of surface treated.
  • Brush and roller:
    • If necessary, reduce with not more than 1 liter of water per 4.5 liters of paint,
    • the first coat may be thinned up to 1-2 liters per 4.5 liters of paint on very absorbent surfaces.
    • Stir well before use.
  • Airless spray:
    • If necessary, reduce with not more than 2 liters of water per 4.5 liters of paint.
  • NOTE:
    • Not recommended to thin if not necessary. Excessive addition of water may affect paint performance such as appearance and adhesion. Not recommended for areas where continuous water ponding is expected and areas subjected to hydrostatic pressure. Not to be use when humidity is high as surface condensation (heavy moisture), will adversely affect the paint performance.
    • Brien Pure Acrylic Paint should be protected from rain for a minimum of 48 hours after application.
    • In high temperature, open containers of Brien Pure Acrylic Paint may skin. Remove the skin before mixing. To prevent skinning, keep the container covered during use.
